Magic is a silly, sweet, loving boy who stole our hearts as a baby and charms us every day.  We feel blessed to share our lives with him. He is so loving and affectionate with everyone but also has such passion for everything about life. Magic is an amazing blend of a few of our favorite Silkens from the past. He was born with an infinity symbol on his back and doesn't seem like a complex guy but the infinity symbol really captured our imaginations just as this amazing guy and all of the facets of his personality captured our hearts.   The infinity symbol is less distinct now that his coat has grown in beautifully, but his charm and 'magical-ness' haven't faded one bit.

Magic has excelled at everything he has ever attempted.  He had a fabulous start at his running career, with 7.5 points in his first few race meets and all winning his meets.  Then he unfortunately had a running injury in one of his first couple of runs out of a box and had to take some time off.  Magic returned to racing a couple of years later and finished his championship,  and he started playing some other games such as lure coursing and Fast Dash, both of which he loves!  He just loves chasing stuff and running.

One of the things I love about Magic is that if he isn't running, he wants to be hanging out with a family member, or a friend, or a puppy or... well he's not terribly picky. He seems to think every stranger is a friend he hasn't met yet. If he isn't cuddling, playing will be fine too. Magic seems almost empathic, because any time I take a photo of him with my kid, they always seem to have the same expression on their faces.

Magic finished his UKC Championship and ISWS Championship with ease and style.  He moves like a dream, with a beautiful, flowing/floating gait, and as Carmen Battaglia said after awarding him Winners' Dog at our Silken Windhound Nationals, he has the "structure to back it up". 

The only issue Magic and I ever have in the show ring is that he is so gleeful to have everyone looking at him, especially when there are kids and puppies around.  I love having a happy dog, though, and don't mind one bit.  His grandmother Storm was the same way, and she won a Best Opposite in Specialty at 13 years old (with the judge asking if she was 13 months old), and a Best Veteran in Show at the same age (with the judge saying she wished we had entered in the regular classes so she could have placed her higher). So I am perfectly happy having a joyful dog in the ring - it will serve him well for many years to come.  We unfortunately didn't manage to get any photos of Magic winning Best in Show as it was a crazy hot weekend and it never occurred to us, but hopefully we can get out to more shows and get more photos.
